The customer
Pala GmbH from Grafing near Munich plans, manufactures and services ventilation systems into the second generation. The company uses the latest technology in its systems and is also extremely innovative in the field of system servicing. Pala is faced with significant challenges with regard to organization and data collection above and beyond the actual service work: Service jobs must be planned and implemented, the system status protocolled, and a record kept of the work carried out.
Voices of experience
"The CASIO DT-X11, combined with the solution from GOD, enables the fastest possible service work and the highest level of transparency and cost management", says Armin Huber, manager at Pala. "As service data no longer has to be read in manually, we can achieve a quicker and error-free synchronisation of data with significantly less time and effort".

Use
In order to achieve a high level of transparency in the protocol procedure for service work, while at the same time significantly reducing the time and effort required, Pala GmbH has replaced service work protocol records in paper form with a rapid and flexible solution using mobile data terminals and user-specific software. The data terminal DT-X11 from CASIO was chosen to accomplish the task. With its extremely robust construction and protection class IP64, is ideally suited for day-to-day service work under rough environmental conditions. The Windows CE 5.0 operating system with the graphic user interface makes learning to operate the device child's play.
The mobile data collection ensures that every Pala customer is informed of the status of the system and the extent of service work required as soon as the service technician has left the premises. Maintenance work on fire dampers is just one area in which Pala implements the new solution. In this sensitive, safety-relevant field, requirements regarding documentation are extremely high, particularly with regard to the regulations implemented by authorities.
