Dachser is among the leading logistics service providers in Europe. Using intelligent information technology and innovative procedures, the logistics service provider optimises acquisition, storage and distribution processes. This results in a transparent goods flow and makes it possible to track goods on an ongoing basis.
The voice of experience

Use
An important element of integrated information logistics is mobile data collection. This is now performed using handheld terminals - modified specifically for Dachser - from the DT-X10 / DT-X30 series manufactured by CASIO.
The total order contains around 4,000 devices, processed by the CASIO partner PDS GmbH, which specialises in solutions for mobile data collection. Dachser uses the DT-X10 as part of the NV online project. With NV online, the electronic serial numbers (ESN) of packages are scanned at collection and delivery. The customer also provides a digital signature. Data is transferred from the device to the Dachser IT systems via GPRS on an ongoing basis. Within seconds, the data is available as status information to all those involved in goods flow, making it possible to perform tracking and tracing. This gives the customer an even quicker overview of his shipments.

The future of mobile data collecting
The modern industrial and transport terminal DT-X30 sets standards in the fields of mobility, stability, ergonomics and service. With its unique characteristics, it offers a wide range of application possibilities and is at home in any situation requiring real-time communication - indoors or outdoors. In addition to transport or logistics companies, the terminal is also an ideal solution for professionals such as manufacturers who deliver their products themselves, car park surveillance authorities, traffic control personnel, companies who need to record meter readings or service companies.
The product DT-X11 (follow-up model from DT-X10)
The DT-X10 has now been replaced by the follow-up model DT-X11. The CASIO DT-X11 is an especially powerful handheld terminal that offers everything necessary for mobile data collection thanks to its versatile features. With its special X-Scale processor, it can be used at temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. In addition to a 192 MB memory and the Windows® CE operating system 5.0, it is also impressive due to its large-area transflective TFT touch display: It provides optimum presentation features in sunlight as well as in artificial light, thereby perfectly covering the working spectrum of the courier, express and package shipment sector. With the integrated Bluetooth® interface and the PC card slot, extensive Plug-and-Play solutions are available. And with the integrated laser or C-MOS scanner, 1D and 2D symbologies, signatures, complete labels, and images can be recorded simply and quickly.
