Use
Since July 2006, mobile ticket sales in Deutsche Bahn trains are performed entirely using the CASIO IT-3000 data terminal. The new device is intended to further optimise mobile ticket sales and electronic timetable information in the railway's trains, as well as ticket inspection in long-distance and local transport. The mobile ticket sales device is a joint development of the companies Systemtechnik GmbH and CASIO. "To make it possible for chip cards to be read securely, and for customers to pay by chip or credit card, we have supplemented the IT-3000 with our SmartCard technology", says Helmut Jaskolka, Managing Director of Systemtechnik GmbH, based in Sömmerda, Thuringia.
