Use
In order to improve the quality of its products, and to optimise the satisfaction of its customers in the automotive industry, the company invests in innovative technological solutions. One recent improvement in the area of information logistics was the introduction of a mobile data collection system for goods receipt, storage and goods issue. Schäfer-Oesterle decided to introduce the CASIO IT-600 hand-held terminal for collecting data, because these devices are particularly robust, as well as being easy to use. They are also equipped with a barcode scanner and an integrated camera. The Camera is used in the general identification of high quality articles, and for documenting product quality. It transfers the data and images collected to the SAP system via the WLAN. As well as substantially improving the logistics processes, this astute solution also enabled the number of errors and misdeliveries to be markedly reduced.
