The "Hospital de Mataró" is located in the city of the same name, approx. 30 km to the northeast of Barcelona. In October 2004, the handheld terminal IT-500 from CASIO was selected in a public tender for the use of mobile data terminals in the clinic.

Use
When the doctors and nurses of the Mataró clinic begin their work at the clinic in the morning, they have direct access to all important information. This is because the IT-500 from CASIO supports daily work flow, providing entirely new options. The staff have quick access to all patient information saved on the main server of the clinic. This way, all current medical treatments, diagnoses, lab results, insurance data and much more appear promptly on the large display of the IT-500. With the laser scanner it is also possible to read and match symbologies on patient cards, beds and medicines. The model version with an integrated digital camera allows for additional usage options.
